My family does not eat very much bread, so when I did buy it, it was always the freshly baked morning one from the market.
Such a homemade bread usually costs something like $4-6, depending on the ingredients.
Then I thought: why spend extra money on something that I can make myself?
My bread does not contain anything superfluous, has a wonderful crust and is rich in healthy vitamins thanks to the seeds. For a richer taste, you can also add nuts and raisins.
A simple and delicious recipe!
Ready? Set? Let’s go cooking!
We will need:
1 cup (250 ml) of whole-wheat flour
3/4 cup of all-purpose flour
1/2 cup of oats
1/2 tsp. of baking soda (I use baking powder)
1 tbsp. of chia seeds (optional)
1-2 tbsp. of sunflower seeds
1 tbsp. of flaxseed
1 cup of almond milk + 2 tsp lemon juice or vinegar
Preheat the oven to 205C / 400F.
Mix the milk and lemon juice. The composition should curdle.
Mix all the dry ingredients.
Make a well in the flour mix and fill with the milk and combine. If necessary, add a little more flour if the dough is too liquid.
Spread the dough into the mold. If you want to you can add more seeds to the top.
Bake for 40 minutes. The bread should rise a little.
