When I was a kid we had a lot of plum trees so we were used to eating prunes often. My grandma managed to bake pies with it, make prune drinks but somehow never any candies were served.
Strange, isn’t it?
Today I am going to show you my simple prune candies recipe.
Takes very few ingredients to make and it’s absolutely delicious! Don’t forget it’s vegan, it’s gluten-free and it has no sugar. Practically guilt free treat.
You can top your candies with some sea salt (my kids loved this option the most) or nuts.
Ready? Let’s start cooking! We will need: (25 candies) 25 pitted prunes 6 table spoons of peanut butter 1/3 cup (1 cup- 250 ml) of any chocolate chips 1/4 cup of any milk (I use soya milk) Salt to taste (optional)
Make sure your prunes are pitted. It’s important.
Add peanut butter on top of every prune and place it in the freezer on the tray covered with parchment paper. Let it freeze.
Melt your chocolate.
I mix chocolate chips with milk and heat it up in the microwave.
Make sure chocolate is liquid and it has an even texture.
Take your prunes out of the freezer, cover them with chocolate, sprinkle with salt and place back into the freezer for an hour or so.
That’s it! Enjoy! |
