The other day I decided to try an experiment on my husband and cook him a vegetable burger, or, in other words, a giant sandwich with a beef that Americans cook with pickles, avocados, bread and many other things.
Being a man who loves protein in its original form, he expressed a lot of compliments to such a healthy alternative to meat burgers, which gave me cause for finding new ideas on this topic.
Today I’m sharing with you a simple and very quick to cook burger recipe, because as you know it’s not a good idea to make a hungry man wait, haha. Let’s go cooking!
We will need: (2 burgers)
1 yellow beet
3 tbsp. of oats
1/2 large carrots
1/4 red onion
3 tbsp. of walnuts
1 teaspoon of sunflower seeds
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp dry garlic
1 tsp dry onion / chives
2 tbsp. of breadcrumbs
1-2 tbsp. of water
Vegetable oil for frying
Salt and black pepper to taste
Cut all the vegetables.
Put them together with nuts and seeds in a saucepan with vegetable oil and stew over low heat until the beet is half-ready. Add spices. Add salt and pepper.
Put everything into a blender and chop. Add the oats, water and mix in the blender again.
You will get a stiff mixture.
Add the dry onion.
Form a patty and roll it in breadcrumbs.
Fry in vegetable oil on both sides to a nice crust.
The burger patties are ready! Add buns, tomato, greens – and you have the picture of a delicious dinner.
Bon appetit!
