Healthy dessert, anyone?
Here you go!
Today we’re cooking a very tasty, hearty, almost raw roll with delicious chocolate date jam.
Beautiful, healthy, consisting of only a few ingredients.
You can eat this roll raw, or you can bake it. It does not contain sugar or flour.
No one would believe that it is based just on the “boring” oats and ordinary dates.
If you do not like dates, you can replace them with raisins or make a chocolate peanut roll by adding a spoon of peanut butter to the filling.
Easy to cook, it will be a great addition to the morning tea and will appeal to everyone.
Ready? Set? Let’s go cooking!
We will need:
For the basis
7 large and soft dates
2 tablespoons of coconut oil
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
2 tablespoons of pecans
3 cups (1 cup – 250ml) of ground oats
1/2 cup of almond milk or water
For the filling
10 large and soft dates
1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon
1 tablespoon of coconut oil
2 tablespoons of sugar-free cocoa powder
3-4 tablespoons of almond milk
Grind the oats.
Add the nuts.
Add the dates.
Add milk and coconut oil.
You should get a thick homogeneous dough.
Line the baking sheet with baking paper and spread the dough in the shape of a rectangle.
Pulse the dates, cocoa powder butter, milk, cinnamon in a blender – this is going to be our filling.
It’s okay if the composition is not uniform, it will not be noticeable in the final state.
Apply the composition to the dough.
Leave the edges without cream, so it will be more convenient to wrap the roll, and the cream will not leak through the edges.
Carefully twist the roll.
Close it and put in the freezer for 1 hour. Done! Take it out and cut. Time to enjoy it!
This is a surprisingly versatile roll! For those who love pastries toasted, I suggest putting the sliced portions in the oven at 165C/325F for 15 minutes.
The roll turns out to be very delicate and tasty!
P.S.
By the way, most of the time you can keep the roll in the freezer and when you feel that you want something sweet, you can just take it out and heat it up. A pleasant and healthy meal!
Bon appetit!
