America these days is literally obsessed with turmeric. Is there something special about it? The color? The smell? The healthy benefits? Maybe all at the same time.
Science tells us that this spice can protect you from inflammations, Alzheimer disease and simply be a great antioxidant addition to our diet. No too bad, right?
Today I would like to present you one super easy, sugar-free, gluten-free if you want, nut-free dish - my brand new turmeric granola.
That can be an amazing breakfast, just add some yogurt, berries or top it over the smoothie. Super healthy, low in calories and perfect for those who are tired of their regular breakfast.
Let’s make something special! Let bake some granola! Ready?
Let’s go cooking!
We will need:
1,5 cups of gluten-free or regular oats
1/4 cup of gluten-free or regular oats
3 table spoons of agave syrup (can be substantiated with a brown sugar)
4 table spoons of coconut oil
1 tea spoon of turmeric powder
1/2 tea spoon of grinned dry ginger
Cinnamon to taste
3-4 table spoons of pumpkin seed
2 table spoons of roasted coconut flakes (optional)
Grind your 1/4 cup of oats. Just a bit, so it’s not a flour like substance as the result. It will help bond the oat in clusters. Trust me: it’s much more delicious like that.
Mix with the 1,5 cup of the gluten-free oats. Add syrup and melted coconut oil.
Add spices.
Mix with the seeds.
Bake (170C/320F) until slightly brown for about 10-15 min.
Let it cool down. Mix with the coconut flakes. Serve with some yogurt and berries. Enjoy!
