We all know about Twix bars, but not everyone knows that there is a vegan version of this delicacy!
Delicate, sweet, with a delicious caramel and thick chocolate.
Very easy to make and consist of just a few ingredients.
Since my children have never tried a real Twix in their life (yes, such children exist, haha), our family calls this dessert “chocolate fingers.”
These bars should be stored in the freezer only, that way they will keep their rigid texture and will be especially tasty.
Raw, sugar-free, oil-free, flour-free.
Perfect for us, right?
Ready? Set? Let’s go cooking!
We will need: (12 pieces)
For the base
1 cup (250 ml.) of oats
3/4 cup of light raisins
3 tbsp. of almond or regular milk (or water)
For caramel
8-10 dates
2/3 cup of almond or any milk
For the chocolate
6 tbsp. of chocolate chips + 7 tbsp. of almond or any other milk or water (or melted chocolate of your choice)
Grind the oats.
Add raisins and milk.
You should get a sticky dough. Make the base of the bars.
Mix everything for the caramel. It’s a good idea to soak the dates in water first.
Cover the bars with the caramel and put them in the freezer for 3-4 hours.
Melt the chocolate chips or use any other chocolate. A baking chocolate will be perfect (it’s completely sugar-free).
Take out the cold bars and cover them with melted chocolate. Since the bars are cold, the chocolate will solidify very quickly.
Done!
Put them back in the freezer until they are completely solidified.
Delicious and healthy chocolate bars for you to enjoy!
Bon appetit!
