For me, the only thing I like French is onion soup, haha!
In France, finding a vegetable broth version of it was a problem for me, so I decided not to deprive myself of my favorite soup and came up with a light version that can satisfy even the lovers of the traditional recipe.
The soup is thick, rich and very tasty. You can serve this soup with croutons or a toasted loaf!
Ready? set? Let’s go cooking!
We will need:
800 ml. of water or vegetable broth
2 large onions
2.5 tbsp. of maple syrup
3-4 tbsp. of vegan Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp. of soy sauce
2 tbsp. of whole wheat flour spoons / whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp. of dry garlic
Salt, black pepper
Olive oil for frying
After the onion is ready, put it into the pan.
Add salt, garlic, pepper, syrup and sauces. In another pan, fry the flour in olive oil. A slightly nutty smell should let you know that it is ready, somewhere, after 2 minutes. After that, add it to the soup.
Mix everything and cook for about 10 minutes. Done! Serve with bread.
