Chocolate Covered Buckwheat Protein Balls (Sugar-Free, Flour-Free, Gluten-Free, Vegan)
Today we are having a sweet day as we are making some delicious treats!
Very easy to prepare, consisting of just a few ingredients, surprisingly healthy and beautiful. And they taste like truffles!
These protein balls contain chickpeas and buckwheat, and instead of sugar, I use dates.
Sometimes I think this is what I should have called my page: “Nice and simple” because there’s really nothing simpler than my recipes.
But back to the protein balls… These sweets perfectly satiate and can serve as a dessert and as a filling snack.
Let’s go cooking!
We will need: (20 sweets)
1/2 (1 cup – 250 ml.) of a cup of buckwheat groats
3/4 cup of chickpeas
1/4 cup of plant-based or regular milk
Grind the buckwheat groats to get buckwheat flour and put it aside.
Rinse the chickpeas if yours are canned, like mine. You can also cook them. Add the dates and the milk.
Blend together with the flour. You should get a dough.Roll the dough into small balls.
Slightly cool them in the freezer. This will help our chocolate to harden a little faster than if the balls were at room temperature.
Melt the chocolate and cover our dessert with it.
Done! You should keep these balls in the freezer, but the refrigerator is also suitable. Balls can be stored there for no more than 5 days.
Happy holidays everybody!
